About China Queen

Located at 2233 Avent Ferry Rd #103, Raleigh, NC 27606, China Queen operates as a chinese restaurant serving Raleigh in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian fusion restaurant, asian restaurant, chinese takeaway, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Raleigh; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9:30 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (919) 832-8882. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, chinaqueenraleigh.com.

Its Google rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 174 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very bland food. I ordered the lunch sweet and sour chicken. Maybe I’ve been spoiled, but at previous Chinese restaurants there has been a tea pot and cups at the entrance. Other places where I’ve ordered sweet and sour there was green beans, onions, and sometimes pineapple chunks. I also had to ask for a glass of water (several times).

By far my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area now. First ordered them on doordash, late one evening. I knew with it being close to closing I was taking a gamble but I'm really glad I did. I've spent the past year trying other restaurants (most multiple times) around me and have been very disappointed in the quality of the sweet and sour chicken. It's always mostly breading and overcooked/hard/dry. But I was very impressed with China Queen's, even as a delivery order 10-15 min away! Their's is made with big chunks of chicken, and the breading isn't overbearing at all! Always perfectly cooked so far! I've ordered from them 5 times now and the quality of everything has consistently been perfect! We get the beef and broccoli with lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, pork fried rice, pork egg rolls, and crab ragoons every time. Their pork fried rice is honestly some of the best I've had! Looks like big pieces of rib meat in the rice. Love their crab ragoons, I will say; I wish they were a tad bigger or had more filling but they're still amazing nonetheless. They are now our go to for chinese food!

Food is impeccable! Trust me, I know good food because we used to own a Chinese takeout ourselves and I haven’t been able to find one that can make food as good as my parents until now. Not to mention the owners here are super down to earth and very honest on their pricing/willing to work with you to get you what you need. We ordered catering from here for our company and so many have asked where the food was from. Since we’ve discovered this place, my boyfriend and I have been regular customers ordering takeout from them every week! With food prices up the roof these days, this is the only place I can rely on to get good quality food for a large portion aside from chipotle!

So I went about 12:15/12:30 today and ordered a lunch special shrimp w/ garlic sauce and white rice...... As you see from the picture that is not what i received. I got no receipt to confirm my order. I drove all the way home on my lunch break and sat down to be completely dissatisfied by this slimy lobster and peas sauce instead of the garlic sauce I was intending to get it was my first time trying it out being new to the side of town in Raleigh and I don't think I'm going to return......saddest part I loved seeing about the buffet and hoped to bring my children here.

Happen to stop by the restaurant since it’s so close to NCSU. They had the buffet available when I came (seems like it’s only for lunch 11-2:30). Drink was included and there’s a decent variety of food for the price. I really like their black pepper chicken and spicy fried fish. There was also roast duck, shredded pork garlic sauce, and mussels. Will be back for quick lunch and also to try takeout.
